Hilbert Investment Solutions has launched the Hilbert Academy, a training platform for financial advisers aimed at improving understanding of structured products and raising technical standards across the adviser market.

The academy uses both retail and institutional experience, structured learning and CISI-endorsed content in a format that is freely accessible to financial advisers on its website, Hilbert said.

Offering "structured, on demand learning", the academy is designed to help advisers build technical understanding of structured products, including how they work, when they may be appropriate and how they should be explained clearly and consistently to clients.

The Academy covers the underlying mechanics of structured products, such as barriers, options and scenario-based outcomes.

It has been created both for "advisers building knowledge in the category and for more experienced professionals looking to deepen their expertise in specific areas."

The academy has launched with its first unit, available in both short and extended formats, together providing one structured CPD point.

A further three modules will be released over the coming weeks.

The platform also includes a "jargon-busting" section and frequently asked questions.
